25 Reflections Before 25

  1. Handle the people you love gently.

  2. The We is greater than the I, more important than the I, and more valuable than the I.

  3. All that is meant to be will be, and all that is to happen will happen, unbiasedly. The more resistance there is, the more forceful it feels.

  4. Control what you can control, and release the rest. Remembering, you can always seize the day, today.

  5. We only get one life, it’s our duty and privilege to live it as fully as possible. Don’t let the world pass you by and just because something is fleeting, doesn’t mean it is any less meaningful.

  6. Find what you love in someone, in yourself.

  7. Life is understood backwards, but can only be lived forwards.

  8. You can choose choices, but not outcomes. The only way to live is to learn. You don’t have to understand life, you just have to live it.

  9. Differentiation is survival, and the universe wants you to be typical. There is a price to pay for distinctiveness, and it’s worth it.

  10. Even if we are all just pawns, pawns are the most magical piece, because you can be anything you want to be, you just have to get to the other side, one tile at a time.

  11. Don’t trust your life plans in the hands or dependent on someone else.

  12. Pick your fights carefully, life would be horrible if everyone picked on every wrong.

  13. We all do stupid shit sometimes, just learn from it. And never stop learning.

  14. Try until every door is closed, and then create new doors or find new exits. Some doors will lead to other doors you didn’t know were options. Aim for a goal, take any path. You make none of the shots you don’t take.

  15. Nothing that can be taken was ever worth keeping.

  16. When you pray for something (courage, love), the universe gives you the opportunity to prove/be it (courageousness, love each other).

  17. The fastest way to change someone’s perception of you is to do what they don’t predict of you.

  18. Things will never change if you don’t do the things that scare you.

  19. Knowing what you don’t want is one step closer to knowing what you want

  20. Good things require uncompensated commitment and trust in the process upfront.

  21. Not everything that counts is counted; not everything that is counted counts.

  22. Awareness of others existence is one thing, awareness and respect for other’s life arcs is another. This is where one practices altruism.

  23. Life is neither good nor bad, it just is. Our perspective is what makes it one or the other.

  24. We are so irrelevant but outrageously impactful - Butterfly effect.

  25. An eye for an eye leaves everyone blind.
